5/2/2024 0 Comments Bean animal overflow drawingsIt was expensive and a lot of trial and error work and if I had that to do over again I would just get a CPR overflow. Wanting to have more control over the Co2, I built a DIY in-tank overflow box with a Bean Animal box on the outside. The teeth were causing a lot of turbulence, less surface skimming and were causing a "vortex" that sucked shrimp and fish in. I also got the "con diente" version ("with teeth" in Spanish I guess-the glass hole guys are real comedians, but they have good videos on drilling tank) but wound up cutting off the teeth-if I had it to do over again I would not get the teeth. With no sponge, it degases all the Co2 overnight. 25 or so based on how the sponge was placed-I could never get it the same way 2X. to minimize Co2 loss due to the waterfall effect. Worked OK for a couple of years, but it required a small foam filter in side the box to 1. Do you think that will it work if make inside the internal overflow the 3 tubes that needs the Beananimal type with 1/2" PVC and then connect them to a single 1" PVC exit (the one that gives me the hole of the tank)? Is there another overflow type that can adapts better to my condition?Įdit: Attach a photo so you can see where are the holes on the 70 GAL tank. Given this condition, I must build an internal overflow, but I want something similar to the beananimal design. Both holes are in one of the left side glass. One of them, is in the center 2 and a half inches from the top the other hole is 6 and a half inches from the top, and 3 inches from the rear glass. The problem is that I already have the main aquarium drilled with 1" holes. ![]() I plan to make a DIY version of this sump with a 22 Gal tank. After reffering Tom Barr on all of my searching, I concluded that the lowest noise, fail proof and less co2 loss is the Beananimal overflow type, I've seen mike's post in this forum also, now I have a better idea of how it works. I will start upgrading one aquarium, and then, depending on how it works, other big tanks. I don't have any experience with this, never used one before. I'm plannig to upgrade my filters to wet-dry types. No matter where you are at your fish keeping hobby, we are with you every step of the way.Hi.
